About MPG Insurance Broking LLP

MPG Insurance Broking LLP is a Mumbai based insurance broking firm with over 125 years of institutional history. We work exclusively as advisors to our clients helping businesses identify their risks, structure the right coverage, and navigate claims. We represent your interests, not the insurer's.

Our office is at 208, Yusuf Building, 49 Veer Nariman Road, Fort, Mumbai 400 001 in the heart of Mumbai's commercial district. You can reach us at 022-22851071 / 22822375 or write to us at chinmaya@mpg.co.in.

MPG has over 125 years of presence in the Indian insurance market. What began as an insurance agency representing respected international firms including Hartford Fire & General and Yorkshire Insurance has evolved into one of Mumbai's most trusted insurance broking practices.

The firm is led by Managing Director Chinmaya Gandhi, a Chartered Accountant and Fellow of the Insurance Institute of India. The practice was founded and continues to be mentored by Jaydev Gokulgandhi, who brings over 45 years of senior-level insurance industry experience, including a long career at United India Insurance Company.

MPG is an insurance broker, not an insurer. That distinction matters. An insurer collects your premium and pays claims. An insurance broker like us works for you. We assess your risks, compare options across multiple insurers, negotiate terms on your behalf, and support you through the claims process. We have no incentive to recommend any particular insurer over another.

Insurance Broking - What It Means For You

MPG Insurance Broking LLP is a Mumbai based insurance broking firm with over 125 years of institutional history. No. Brokers are compensated by insurers through commission, which is already built into the premium you'd pay regardless of how you purchase the policy. In practice, because we negotiate on your behalf and understand the market, clients often end up with better premiums and broader coverage than they'd get on their own.

We work across the full range of life and general insurance products including Fire & Special Perils, Marine & Transit, Health & Mediclaim, Motor, Liability (Public, Product, Professional Indemnity), Cyber, Term & Life, Personal Accident, Travel & Overseas, Burglary & Theft, Loss of Profit, and Pet Insurance. We also offer dedicated Claim Consultancy services.

Our primary focus is corporate and commercial insurance serving businesses across pharmaceuticals, textiles, logistics, jewellery, technology, manufacturing, and more. That said, we also assist business owners and their families with personal insurance needs including health, term life, travel, and motor policies.

Working With MPG

We start by understanding your business your assets, operations, revenue exposure, supply chain, and the risks that are specific to your industry. Only after that do we design a coverage strategy. We don't hand you a standard template; we build a protection plan around your actual risk profile.

We're not tied to any single insurer. If your existing coverage is competitive and appropriate for your risk profile, we'll tell you honestly. If we see room to improve better terms, broader coverage, or a more suitable insurer we'll present those options for you to consider. The decision is always yours.

Our recommendations are based on three things: how well the insurer's product covers your specific risks, the insurer's claims settlement track record, and the terms we can negotiate given our long-standing relationships with leading providers. We have no obligation to any insurer only to you.

We work with businesses of varying sizes, from growing SMEs to established corporates. If you're running a business with meaningful assets, employees, or operational risk you need proper insurance advisory. That's true whether your premium is in the tens of thousands or the crores.

Over the decades, we've built deep familiarity with the risk profiles of: Textiles & Apparel, Pharmaceuticals & Specialty Chemicals, Jewellery & High-Value Assets, Logistics & Marine Cargo, Processed Foods & FMCG, Technology & Software, Fitness & Wellness, Retail, and NGOs & Social Sector Organisations among others.

Claims — When It Matters Most

You contact us. We take over from there. Our team notifies the insurer, guides you through documentation requirements, follows up on the progress of your claim, and advocates on your behalf throughout the settlement process. You're not handed a helpline number we stay involved until the matter is resolved.

Claim Consultancy is our dedicated service for businesses navigating complex or high value claims. If you're dealing with a disputed settlement, an underpaid claim, or a claim that's been dragging on we step in as your advisor. We review the policy language, assess what you're entitled to, and represent your position with the insurer.

Yes. Claim rejection or underpayment doesn't always have to be the end of the conversation. We review the grounds for rejection, examine the policy wording, and if there's a legitimate basis to challenge we pursue it. Many claims are resolved in the client's favour at this stage.

It depends on the type and complexity of the claim, the insurer's internal process, and how complete the documentation is. What we can tell you is that having a broker follow up actively rather than waiting on an insurer's timeline makes a material difference in how quickly and fairly claims are resolved.

Policy, Renewal & Risk Management

At a minimum, annually typically at renewal. But you should also review coverage whenever there's a significant change in your business: new assets, expanded operations, additional employees, entry into new markets, or changes in revenue. What was adequate last year may leave you exposed today.

Insurance is one response to risk financial protection after something goes wrong. Risk management is broader: it's about identifying, assessing, and where possible reducing your exposure before a loss occurs. At MPG, we function as risk advisors, not just policy placers. We help you anticipate exposures, not just cover them.

To begin an initial assessment, we typically need basic details about your business nature of operations, key assets, existing policies (if any), and your employee count. We'll guide you through what's needed as we go. There's no complex paperwork required just to have the first conversation.
